Provider Biography

Dr. Barry Summers earned his dual MD/PhD degrees from The Chicago Medical School. He went on to conduct his general surgical residency at The University of Chicago (UC) Hospitals where he spent two years studying myocardial reperfusion injury. He then completed his last two years of general surgery residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center.

After residency, Dr. Summers served as an attending trauma surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital. He then left to practice privately and has more than 20 years of surgical experience.

Dr. Summers is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, American College of Phlebology, and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
